Hi all, I am a new member in the UK midlands, any other members in the area? I have an '88 2MG. Anyone know if the 1 FN lower fairing panels will fit?
Look forward to hearing from you

Hello, I am fairly local to you in Redditch, Worcestershire. 1 FN fairing lowers will need a threaded bracket or some kind of bracket for a threaded clip on the frame down tubes by your ignition coils but otherwise fit fine.

Thanks, now next question, do you know where I can buy some?
Are there any formal or informal get togethers for UK forum members?

The Genesis model that you have has different downtubes to the Pure Sports (1fn) model. The Genesis model has brackets for the coils whereas the Pure Sports model doesn't, but the Pure Sports model does have a bracket that a collar fits into so that the fairing lowers can be secured to the frame. Therefore I believe that the easiest way for you to fit the fairing lowers is to weld a small (simple) bracket onto your present down tubes. If you bought some downtubes for the earlier model you would then have to weld some brackets onto you bike to accept your coils.

Wot he said. I welded a nut to the end of a very short tube in order to space it away from the down tubes & meet the fairing panel. Then welded the tube to the frame. Be aware that your coils will then be exposed on either side.

Exup requires some work as far as I'm aware, FZR1000 Genesis arm drops straight in.

To fit the Exup arm you would either have to drill out the FZ frame to accept the larger diameter Exup spindle or, (as I did) have a sleeve made to fit inside the Exup arm so that you can use the FZ spindle. You would also have to grind away the webb of the Exup arm so that the shock will fit through the swingarm, and the tolerances are quite tight. If I was to start again I would be tempted to use a Thunderace swingarm as I believe it's slightly longer, although I can't advise on its fitment.
