Be just the bike Graham as I'm getting grief over wanting to buy another after I've just sold the Ducati. It's too far to come just for a look at it so I'll take your word for it that it's ok. I'm away next week so it'll be at least the weekend after that when I can borrow my mate's van and come and collect. Is everything apart from the engine okay?

I rode it once for around 10 minutes Tom & everything else was fine. Chain, sprockets, tyres, bearings, brakes etc all good. There are some bits missing from the blisters that screw to the top fairing & one of the sides has been repaired from inside with fibreglass. I didn't realise until I took it off. Some surface rust on the frame & rear of the fuel tank. I will try & take some pictures of it this week & email them to you so you can see for yourself but when it's in 1 piece it all looks fine. Engine & exhaust look to be in very good condition, probably too good so someone has probably painted them both black recently but it's been done well & exhaust itself is solid not rusty. I think you will like it Tom but best to send some better pictures to be safe. Watch this space. ;D

I'll have that on the road in no time Graham. Defo missing on one pot as I rode it into my garden so I'll try swapping the carbs and take it from there. With the bits I've got it won't take long to diagnose the fault, then I'll probs put it on the road and sell the other.

Got the blue one out of the garage today and fired it up. Little ragged under 3000rpm but clean as a whistle over that. How weird is that, Graham?? Gonna take it for a spin to my mates and if it behaves itself I might just put it on the road.........

seemed a bit under powered to me Tom but having said that, it's the only FZ I have ever rode so what would I know ? My old TRX850 would have had 85ish bhp & the FZ seemed weak in comparison. If you decide to put it on the road I wouldn't mind guessing it will pass an mot without too much trouble. Good luck with it what ever you do.

It definitely seemed like it was missing on one pot before but was sweet as a nut today. Never took it past 85, as it's still an unknown quantity but it got there very quickly. It's way quieter than the other one with the Micron pipe on, but didn't find any obvious problems and seemed to handle okay, if not quite as good as the other one. Great when you've two to compare!! Woohoo!!!

Ha you must take into account this was from eight years ago. I doubt I would have trouble selling this bike for this price today.

My 1975 Fizzy cost me 80 quid in 1979 - when I was 14. 1 1/2 years to fettle it before it was on the road.
