Can we start a thread for model year history ? i.e. what changes were made throughout the life of bike ?
I can add what I found in the recent Practical Sportbike article plus anything else I stumble across.. e.g. the other day I noticed that FZtimmy's F reg (1988) has twin throttle cables, but mine has just one ??
Cheers

just my observations of the FZ750 models, im sure there are more educated folk here who can add or even put me right on a few points too,
First FZ750 1FN 1985, silver, red, 16" front wheel as per the fashion at the time, vented disc's with two pot opposed calipers fitted, four into two exhaust system, front indicators fitted to lower front of fairing subframe, 1986 colour changes through out the range, most famous being Mr Eddie Lawson's works FZ750 after the Daytona win, 1987/88 three spoke wheels 17" 18" rear, solid disc's fitted front rear, front indicaotrs moved to middle of fairing, rear footrest hangers bolt on not welded as per 1FN, electrics upgraded as models progressed over the life span of the FZ750, 89 onwards full fairing fitted, cosmetic upgrades,

Hi WB OK good start, some corrections (and additions) which I hope are correct .. First FZ750 1FN 1985, silver, red, 16" front wheel as per the fashion at the time, vented disc's with two pot opposed calipers fitted, four into two exhaust system, front indicators fitted to lower front of fairing subframe, oil drain plug in centre of sump (?). Spin on fuel filler cap on first 3000 models. 1986 1FN colour changes through out the range, most famous being Mr Eddie Lawson's works FZ750 after the Daytona win, blue and white yellow colour scheme added (1 year only) plus belly pan and rear grab rail. 1987/88 2MG three spoke wheels 17" 18" rear, think these came much later (1990 ?) solid disc's fitted front and rear, front indicators moved to top fairing section full fairing now fitted, new side panels and rear light cowl, rear footrest hangers alloy bolt on not welded as per 1FN, electrics upgraded (new ignition pick-ups and TCI ignitor box) as models progressed over the life span of the FZ750, more powerful engine in 2MG (+ 5 BHP ?) and new oil drain position (rear left corner) of sump. 4:1 exhaust with 70mm connecting pipe to end can, dual throttle cables addded for 1988 model year. 1989 new colour schemes only, smaller exhaust diameters (?) 1990/1991 3KS or 3KT (?) new wheel sizes (17" front) and four pot calipers
