Hi all Cars were spewing fuel out of the overflow so I had to have them off and clean out the bowls, new fuel filter etc.. while i was at it I figures I should do something about teh ineffective airbox rubbers. I bought some of the suggested silicone hose and cut down the existing rubbers which had turne to rock and sleeved them with the silicone as per this link.. www.instructables.com/id/Replacing-Perished-Carb-Rubbers-Yamaha/I just used a carving knife on the silicone and a jubilee clip set 30mm down as a guide. on the airbox rubbers a hacksaw. Worked out ok I think..

You can still get new inlet rubbers, a set of 4 costs about £100

Little bit o useful info I saw a vid from hackaweek Utube and the guy gay his hard inlet rubbers to a dude( they were from a Honda 750 single cam I think ) and he bought them back soft and like new I spun somalloy ones up in a lathe and plastic sleeves to seal between them and bottom of air box contact glued the inlet trumpets on the top flange of the alloy intake bit of gasket sealant when fitting to carbs and ss hose clips job done Karl nz
