Hi joined the site to try and find out if any bits of a fzr 1000 exup are useable on my fz750 87 model if it's no use I'll sell on the parts I would like to use swingarm for the big back wheel front end for brakes but I've looked now the exup is stripped doesn't look straight forward as fork legs are upside down and bigger diameter legs any advice on parts that are worth me keeping ps my bike runs and drives fine and don't want to botch anything thanks dave

Dave the exup rear arm will fit with minor work but it shortens the wheelbase a fair bit. You would need to press the stem out of the bottom yoke & have FZ one fitted for forks but I can't comment on length. Early Genesis 1000 FZR (pre exup) front yokes & forks will bolt straight into your FZ headstock. I have two sets of forks, wheels, brakes etc if you fancy doing a deal for your exup front end? Guessing you have RU model exup as a donor?

Thanks for the reply graham I got the bike from a family member it's been in a shed for years. I thought it would just swap part over not going to mess with handling of my own bike as it is what it is never lets me down keep getting Told it worth nowt but can't part with it I got the exup up and running but misfiring at idle then I noticed plug leads hanging off got that done then noticed carbs had a tps with a lead must be of thunderace then spotted exup valve no cables power valve missing so it got stripped for parts plastics are dead as for front end bit of pitting right at base of leg where water has been leaking on the chrome would need a refurb brakes ok as I used front brake to eat back tyre while it was running for fun will be lots of useable stuff for sale ps only thing that I have used is clutch innards as my clutch was locking up when left for a while on stripping my own I noticed no thrust bearing at all so used exup clutch great now I might use clutch slave if it fits other than that I don't need anything else I think and I forgot to say graham it a 93 L reg all plastics are shot nice headlight but fairing broken

I think you will be ok using clutch cylinder on your FZ David. I have exup master cylinder & lever fitted to mine. Genesis 1000 basket & plates. Where are you located?
