Well i have a new bike purchased from Wheaty. Basically its a 2mg with an exup back end. This won't be the quickest rebuild ever, so don't hold your breath . I have already started the get the parts to fit a yzf750 front end and also want to make the front of the fairing to look like the 1fn. My first port of call, just lifted the back end with new dog bones, i will dry build her then strip it back down for painting/plating etc I have few questions:- does anyone have a spare set of 1fn engine cradles to save some welding and grinding on the 2mg ones for relocating the coils. Also, i want to fit a 1000 geni crank + top end, this is something i did many years ago but can't remember if i needed the 1000 loom, my tiny brain just seems to remember fitting the new cdi....any takers on this one? Pete ps i have tried to load a pic...its failed, how the bloody hell do you do this

Good luck!
For the picture, you need to upload it into something like photobucket and then post the link here.

Yes the link works Pete but if you copy & paste the IMG code instead of the http then the picture will show on the forum. I can change it but it's much quicker & easier for you to do it. Bike looks to be in really good condition already.

Thanks for that Graham. The bike is very solid. I did want a 1fn but this one was in good all round condition for a 20 year + bike all be it the body work is mullered, so i bit the bullet and went for it.

The pad on the back brake look a little worn, and the foot pegs seem a little far back......

for whats it worth here is the latest:- yzf750 front end fitted, i had to get a set of 25mm riser clip on to prevent the levers hitting the fairing + i also picked a few of these short adjustable levers. The fairing is made from 2 bits of 2mg that has been plastic welded to fill the holes etc (my mate is well handy as this stuff) + short panels added....a 2mg panels at the back but looking like a 1fn at the front also a bad pic of new gsxrk4 rear sets...much nicer

Sorry, I meant lock stops!! And did you have the rearset mounting holes welded on to suit the rearsets? Thanks again

I will try take a pic of the lock stop from the front, if you zoom in to the photo of bars you can see the spacer on the bottom yoke, in crude form a bit of ali bar shaped with a m6 csk bolt. I'm probably going to get a new lug ali welded onto the bottom yoke with this as my setting out point. With the rear set, it was really simple, the top lugs are only fillet welded from the back, just grind off the weld, bolt the lug to the rear set and weld it back on. Small spacers are then needed to stop them fouling the swing arm....job done
