Hello everyone. I'm Graham, from Redditch, Worcestershire in England. I have started this forum in the hope that like minded FZ owners will join up & share their knowledge of what I consider to be one of the most handsome & influential motorcycles ever created ! I own 2 whole FZ750's & a completely stripped one which may never see the road again. Although my main bike at the moment is a 1993 Honda Fireblade I am a Yamaha man at heart having owned a TRX850, an RZ250RR & several DT125's in my youth. I have quite a passion for 1980's cars & bikes so pictures of either on here will be gladly received. ;D

Nice one Graham, I don't know how you do all of you're computer wizardry but good on yer. For those that I haven't met before my FZ background started in September 1988 when I bought my first FZ, it is a Puresports model (1FN) and I still own it today. Over the years it has been fitted with a 911cc top end to the original engine and it got a mention in Performance Bikes magazine when I did over 160mph on it in 1993. Since then that engine dropped a valve, was put in the loft and replaced by an FZR1000 Genesis engine which is still in there today along with EXUP carbs and bellmouths. Other modifications include EXUP swingarm, Marvic Penta rear wheel and Ohlins shock etc. A big accident in 1995 put a stop on my riding for a while and the FZ lived in my front room with me for a while but its being prepped for the road again. My other bikes include 2 another FZ's, one that was going to be streetfightered but is now almost ready for a new owner and one for the track which has a Tony Scott tuned motor. I also own two X7's, one for the road and one for the track and a Dax bike. Hello to all.

I honestly didn't know what to expect regards people finding it or joining up. Nice one & thanks for posting. I hope your are the 1st of many. ;D

Hi y'all. I'm here now too. Had to sell my Ducati so I'm left with the FZ. Still haven't sorted the genny problem. Bought two. First only making 3.5v at 5000rpm and the second had been dropped in transit and dented and cracked the drive end flange. No bike to ride at all now. Had to sell my pinball too. Innit crap when people expect you to pay the mortgage and stuff.

Hiya Tom. Sorry to hear about the sale of your Ducati but on the bright side, it's one less mouth to feed ? Just a thought, could you take one of your generators to pieces to see if there is something obviously wrong with it internally ? Oh yeah, did you win those frame rails on ebay last month ? ;D

Yeah I won the frame rails, so I'll tuck them away for my winter project. You're right about the Duke but now I've nothing to ride and I'm missing it already. I'm almost sure the stator coils are shorted on my original genny and I haven't checked the second one I bough but I'm fairly sure I'll find a winding down. With the last one I bought he's claiming against the courier so I can't touch it. To take then apart you have to remove the soldered joints on the winding ends to remove the rotor. The brushes and coms look fine on both of them so got to be a break in the windings somewhere.

Oh, not as easy as I thought then. there is/was a company on Oxford called electrex who would re-wind coils & stuff but I haven't used them since the mid 90's. I will keep my eye out for a cheap 2nd hand unit if you still want one ?

The unfortunate thing is I can't afford to buy another now so I'm stuck with nothing. Still working on the motorhome so as soon as I can I'll attempt a bit of gynaecology on the gennys and see what I come up with.

Was the first bike I had after a 7 year dry spell. Traded a stillborn 900 seca(Diversion) turbo project for the down payment. Bike had almost all the upgrades and I added a few m'self. One of those,a lean set of flatslides took out the valves in 2003 and shes been slumbering in the garage ever since. Gotta get here back up! If anyone wants to see her, shes #48 in the old registry on www.fz750.net .

;D My pleasure Mate! Good Luck to ya and this endevour. One more FZ site is a good thing. As much as I hate to say it,one day ARCH will tire of the sites and they will go the way of the DoDo. It'll be a black day for FZ owner worlwide when that happens I'm surprised and very appreciative that he's kept it going this long. You may just become the heir apparant,ya never know Cheers
