Hi Everyone, Just to let you know that I will be racing the FZ at Mallory Park this coming Sunday (18th August) in the penultimate round of the Earlystocks Championship. As always, everyone is welcome to come along and give some support, I think entry to the circuit is around £12.00. If you do decide to come along, then come and say hello. We will be in the paddock, which if you dont know is in the infield and accessed over the bridge. I am just working on set up at the moment, doing some fine tuning on the carbs and suspension!
Hope to see some of you there. All the best Keith 221

Hi Graham, Thanks for that. I have had a look at the forecast which currently is saying dry and overcast which is pretty much ideal. It would be good to see you and catch up if you can make it, I could also do with picking your brains again with regards Bike Number 2!

Disaster! I have just got home, unfortunately the van broke down on the way to Mallory ( only got 2 miles!) It appears that the fuel pump has gone, so unfortunately I wont be racing tomorrow. Needless to say... I am gutted!

After the disaster with the van last round... I am off to Mallory on Wednesday for some testing prior to the last round. I am testing new carbs with K&N filters, a different exhaust system, stiffer fork springs and a 180 rear tyre! Hopefully make some progress for the final round shoot out against the GSX 1100's! Its the first time up against them and although they are not in my class, it would be good if I could give them a run for their money!!

Hi Graham, Do you think the K&N's arent likely to work too well then?

I've read reports of many problems when folk fit pod filters to the standard carbs. I believe they take a lot of setting up to get a smooth power deliver. Being a race bike it's probably not so important. I'm sure Mr Horse could throw more light on the subject.

I have the k&n ru-2754 pods on mine. Took about 5 rounds of changing jets and needle height to get it dialed in right, but I am very happy with the results.
