I have an ex-endurance frame for sale, from a French team that ran it in the '88 Bol d'Or. Heavily braced AND with unique alloy cradles. Bracing is external and looks, shall we say, "industrial", cradles are beautifully made. It also has internal bracing behind the carbs. It has an alloy detachable subframe.
Whether this can be road-registered, I have no idea. I thought it would be of interest to anyone involved in forgotten-era Superbikes, as it is a genuine period piece. Being listed on Ebay tonight. This will include a seat unit and FZR O.E. fuel tank.
Would welcome any approaches from outside Ebay, so feel free to contact me.
Also coming up, modified igniter units. 13,000rpm and modified advance, used by the same team in World Endurance. I've yet to play with one, but I believe there might be several available. They're old, but pretty trick, and would work on FZ or FZRs with single pick-ups (made from 2GH base units). If anyone is interested, let me know. I'll be in France in 2 weeks time, looking to bring back as many trick bits as I can afford. The same guy has a complete OW01 front end (forks, wheel, discs, calipers and spindle) he didn't mention yokes, for which he wants £800. Seems a little steep to me, but I don't know anything about OW parts availability. I know the discs have alloy carriers cos I've got some on my FZ, but that's about it.
Update: Zero replies for the frame, which now turns out to have been run in Gauloises colours by a Yamaha France satellite team entry. That explains all the factory parts it had on it. Since no-one wanted it, I'm keeping it. There were no extra CDIs for sale, but I've had one email asking about it. Considering how rare kit Yamaha parts are, I'm dissappointed in the lack of interest.
vtr: Hi from cape town; new at forum's not at bike building; the insanity is contagious. Recently acquired a "1FU" FZ750 with dropped valves and decided cool to rebuild as a 911conversion sleeper, what we do to ourselves...

grahamfirestorm: Can anyone tell me why my bike doesn't seem to light up after 7000rpm like all the research I did before buying it.She has the standard 4 into 1 exhaust, carbs rebuilt with new jets,seals,floats,2 new diaphragms, all valve clearances checked and adjusted?

grahamfirestorm: She revs round to 10000rpm ok,but there is no urgency with it,my 1987 Kawasaki gpx750 was a lot quicker, and that was supposed to be 10-15 bhp down, ive been told the standard silencer and air filter are to blame but I don't believe that.

Graham : grahamfirestorm. Do you have standard size main jets fitted to your carbs? I would be tempted to go up a size or even two to see if it helps the bike pull stronger at high revs.
