Probably not enough members on here just yet but I will leave this thread up for folks to read & add their thoughts on the subject. I think it would be great for as many of us as possible to meet up some time this year so if anyone is interested in doing just that then here is the place for suggestions regards a venue. I realize that we are all scattered around the country so if we can make it fairly central to everyone I think there is a better chance of people making the effort. I haven't just said that because I am from the midlands ! I'm not even certain my own FZ will be on the road this year but I'll bring it in my van if I have to ! Anyone fancy it ? Any ideas where we could meet ?

Count me in, I just hope my bike is up and running by then. I would like to say that Matlock would be a good visiting place but the amount of police presence and traffic puts me off, not sure of anywhere else that would be a good meeting place but I like to think that with a bit of preparation I could make it.

I'm very much in the same boat mate so was hoping to use this thread as inspiration to get my s**t together & get the FZ finished. I have no preference regards a meeting place but I'm thinking the date could be more important if no one has a road worthy bike yet ! ;D Matlock is fine by me. I drove across the Derbyshire dales a few years back in my van passing through Buxton & the scenery was amazing. be nice to do something similar on a bike.

If I can get someone to stop dossing around and sort out my electrics (hint hint) then I'll hopefully get the rest of the bike sorted and go on the 'big moped', failing that I'll go on the x7 as it was quick enough to 'whup your Tuono' on the way to Donnington (if I can sort the carbs out) ha ha.

Just plug it into the mains!!! I`ll get me push bike out ready for yer then. Tuono up for sale so might not be using that, keep wearing out rear tyres, front not had much use though so a bit of a saving there then. Yeh alright I`ll see if I can get round in the next week of so.

Bassetts Pole if that`s central enough.

Having just came back from Derbyshire myself, I think it's a great place for a meet and Matlock is great. I agree about the police presence thing though. The roads were crawling with hairdryers and Bike Police. A bit like the Kirkby Lonsdale/ Devil's Bridge area in my neck of the woods. I was in my old motorhome but I thought to myself many times that the roads were bike heaven!!! (The speed limit is 50mph for a reason my *rse!!)

I think I have just added a pole at the top of this thread. I don't mind either suggestions but bassets pole would be almost like cheating for me as I'm roughly 35 miles south from there. Might up my chances of actually getting there on the FZ though. ;D What about setting a date then people ?

Seeing as I live on the moon, I just had to Google Bassetts Pole. Looks a wonderful night on a Tuesday night. I'll bet theres something for everyone there.

Regarding the timing, I could do with a couple of weeks notice to travel down on the x7 (need to sort out the carbs), or a few months if I was to go down on the FZ if it helps. Bassetts pole sounds good to me.

I've never been but heard that Bassets pole can be a huge meet for bikes. I sometimes go to the Waterman pub in Warwick but not very often. So would I be right in thinking that Bassets pole is the prefered choice so far then ?

Both places are 4-5 hours away for me so I'd need to go through a travel agent. Lol.
