Soooooooooooooooo anyone willing to stick their neck out & come up with a date for this meet ? I will hold my hands up & say that my FZ has about as much chance of setting a 130+mph lap of the TT circuit as it has of being roadworthy in the next 3 months so I will almost definitely have to attend on my Fireblade, sorry. Have we decided on a venue yet ? I don't care but this weekend is out for me unless we do a Sunday ? Infact a Sunday might be better for all of us yes ? At present I can do any Sunday in July or August any but the 1st or 3rd Sundays of the month. I don't mind if we meet up later than this so September-October is also fine by me but obviously the weather might be an issue by then. Any thoughts people ?
Its a bit dodgy for me to commit to a date with short notice because I work continental shifts (4 on 4 off) alternating between days & nights, but as long as I've got advance notice I should be able to make it. If we're going to meet at Bassets pole then I think it should be on a Tuesday or if one of us can only make it on a weekend then maybe Matlock is a better option. Timewise, I have got the week of the 19th to the 26th off work and could work around anything for that week, and hopefully if I can sort another FZ out in time then I may have another mate who can join us. If anyone is interested, I will be displaying my X7 on a stand at the Uttoxeter bike show this weekend so if anyone goes and wants to say 'hey up you git, how are yer' then it'd be nice to meet, but I might call you a git back. As my FZ isn't roadworthy just yet then I would turn up on my X7 so would be easy to recognise. I'm not sure how Scobri is fixed so he'll have to answer that his self, just don't let him put his coffee cup on yer bike! I know this is brief but hopefully it'll help to get things rolling.
I should be ok for that week,my bro my come down on his FZ, I`ve just sold my other FZ so he may come down as well. There was a meet at Mallory in 2002 which had 10 FZ`s all together, would be nice to beat that. I had 3 FZ`s at work the other day which were not owned by the same person, what`s the chances of that happening.. Oi wheaty, `i`ve now progressed onto paper cups now which don`t stain as much & take less washing up. I won`t be going to Uttoxeter this weekend but may be at Mallory next weekend as a guest of the Harley club ,can you believe it.
I will leave it up to you lads to decide. The longer we leave it the better the chance of my FZ attending but I got a lot going on these next few weeks & am off to Germany 3rd weekend in August. Late August or any time after would suit me really.
Well I'm defo out because I live in the debatable lands! Be great to meet you all sometime though. Could I suggest next May, when the sun comes back out? We've just had our wettest July for God knows how long, and all with a hosepipe ban. And I thought I was nuts....................
Following on from the previous interest on this thread last year... What about organising one or even several meets / rideouts this coming summer? I hope to be racing my FZ this season with the Earlystocks club, so how about coming along to one of our race meetings? What are your thoughts?
vtr: Hi from cape town; new at forum's not at bike building; the insanity is contagious. Recently acquired a "1FU" FZ750 with dropped valves and decided cool to rebuild as a 911conversion sleeper, what we do to ourselves...

grahamfirestorm: Can anyone tell me why my bike doesn't seem to light up after 7000rpm like all the research I did before buying it.She has the standard 4 into 1 exhaust, carbs rebuilt with new jets,seals,floats,2 new diaphragms, all valve clearances checked and adjusted?

grahamfirestorm: She revs round to 10000rpm ok,but there is no urgency with it,my 1987 Kawasaki gpx750 was a lot quicker, and that was supposed to be 10-15 bhp down, ive been told the standard silencer and air filter are to blame but I don't believe that.

Graham : grahamfirestorm. Do you have standard size main jets fitted to your carbs? I would be tempted to go up a size or even two to see if it helps the bike pull stronger at high revs.
