Opinion time, with or without my home grown side panels? If with, what colour?

Graham, the bikes looking terrific. You must be proud of it.
I'd go with the panels...looks finished. And, maybe black them out to match the engine. IMO.
Now the bad news...forecasting the possibility of snow this weekend. Riding to work at 4 deg. celcius is wearing thin on me. Remember those snow tires I mentioned?? LOL Seasons about done here and I'm pissed. Time to winterize the fuel system, pull the battery and put my sweetheart away. Moment of silence please....

Cheers for the input Dave, I'm thinking of trimming them at the rear to follow the line of the frame rail then satin black? Sorry to hear of your bad weather. I will think twice before moaning how cold it is here in future.

Good idea...adjusting it to the frame. I'd make a up a cardboard template and paint it...drop it in and stand back and see how it looks. It'll give you an idea of the colour as well. Not as permanent as modifying the panel itself. Just a thought. Dave

I'd go with the panels too, looks a bit are without them. We've had snow here this week in Scotland and Yorkshire, so winter's here already too. That'll mean another full day cutting firewood on Saturday then!!!!

If you go with the black for the side panel, then I would cut it down to fit inside or it won't look right, I don't think

Yeah know what you're saying Tom. Think I will buy some black tomorrow then see what needs cutting off.

It's better, but I think that it would look better if the line from the rear panel continued along the new side panel to the front in the same colour as the tank and rear unit, a bit like this?Attachments:

I had the exact same thought yesterday Tom but wondered if I was being too fussy! Great minds & all that but my compressor is out of action so can't use the white I have in a tin. Something for a future date for sure. One question though, when did you come round my house & put that white shit on my FZ??? ;D

And there's me thinking I'd done you a favour. Can't help some people!!!! It crossed my mind that it's starting to look like an LC now. Heeheehee

Don't mind it looking like an LC mate. Headlight & top fairing should let people know that it's not. Cheers for the edited picture with the white bit. I was just using my imagination & squinting so that's saved me a headache.
