Hello I bought a 2MG F Reg as a non runner, as we are about to move house to one with no garage i need to part with it, i was looking for £100,
I have has the bike running, every thing works apart from the rev counter, i did intend to get it road ready but work and lack of time is beating me there is very little plastic with the bike, brakes are sized, i would like to sell it here rather than scrap it, it is located in crewe,

I also have a 2Mg model on G plate which I have had for approx. 8 years now and now has 69300+ miles on the clock, of which I have done about half ( Its the 3rd I've owned over the past 24 Years - I Love Them ) unfortunately I am in need of several spares in order to keep mine on the road ( I ride 365 days a year and don't drive a car .) including a seemingly impossible to locate sump ,as mine is dripping from the sump plug , it transpires that at some point in the past one of its previous owners had repaired it with epoxy which is now past its best ( It should of been welded ) any way If You don't live to far from Morecambe or I can arrange transport I would love to purchase this massively underrated machine ( The wife has finally conceded My point about it probably being the best option)I also have 4 other bikes ( A sore point ! ) ( 2 Sr 250s My Usual commuters ) but both are of the road one because it was stolen and trashed and the other ( which was supposed to be a donor bike ) because I spanked it a little bit to hard one day on My way to work and wished I was on the Fz . The others are an Fz 1000 genesis on an E plate bought as a refurbishment project , and A Guzzi LM IV which I've owned for over 23 years and bought after My 1st Fz was written off when a wagon ran over it whilst it was parked up at work . the Guzzi needs time and money Time is even shorter than cash these days and I don't seem to have enough of either . Please drop Me an E mail ( firstname.lastname@example.org ) works computer (I don't own one nor do I have a mobile! ) or call Me on My land line (01524 412421 ) or at work (01524 592560) if there is no reply during the day at the home phone ( which gets taken of the hook from 10:00 - 16:00 when I am on Night shift ) but You can still leave a message and contact details .
Hope I am not to late ( and its already been sold ) .
Ps I am a bit of a luddite when it comes to PC's and am not sure how to officially join this forum ( It will be the only on line anything I will ever join ! and I have resisted so many tempting options .) so I shall have a word with a work colleague in the morning ( I work shifts.) but have 2 weeks leave from the 6/6/14 onwards
thanks for taking time to read and fingers crossed We will speak soon ) Dick.
Thanks for the reply , but as the bike is My only transport it was important to get it sorted asap and I have had the sump ali welded , I was looking for an engine sump then ,but if You have an air box with some decent carb inlet rubbers I am on the lookout for replacements as mine are starting to crack with age and heat, so if you have those they would be a great help .
I finish work at 06:30 on Tuesday and will be back on days at 06:30 on Wednesday and Thursday finishing at 18:30 and back to work at 18:30 on Friday so getting hold of Me by phone may be difficult but if You drop Me a line Here I will get back to You as soon as I can , alternatively (time permitting ) I will give You a call from home later this evening (that's if I don't crash out as soon as I get the mundane every day stuff and nonsense out of the way --Kids & Women!!!) .
Thanks again , here's looking forwards to speaking in person.
vtr: Hi from cape town; new at forum's not at bike building; the insanity is contagious. Recently acquired a "1FU" FZ750 with dropped valves and decided cool to rebuild as a 911conversion sleeper, what we do to ourselves...

grahamfirestorm: Can anyone tell me why my bike doesn't seem to light up after 7000rpm like all the research I did before buying it.She has the standard 4 into 1 exhaust, carbs rebuilt with new jets,seals,floats,2 new diaphragms, all valve clearances checked and adjusted?

grahamfirestorm: She revs round to 10000rpm ok,but there is no urgency with it,my 1987 Kawasaki gpx750 was a lot quicker, and that was supposed to be 10-15 bhp down, ive been told the standard silencer and air filter are to blame but I don't believe that.

Graham : grahamfirestorm. Do you have standard size main jets fitted to your carbs? I would be tempted to go up a size or even two to see if it helps the bike pull stronger at high revs.
