Is it just the brand? I have a 4-1 Tranzac system on my 85 model and it has a shit awful dead spot at 4K as well. I am seriously thinking about going back to 4-2. Be interested about how prevalent the 4K dead spot is.

from what i can see the micron headers are much bigger (diameter) than standard, so really moving the power upwards but leaving a hole. shortening the collector may have the effect of filling in this dip.

The fz was prone to flat spots when putting after market pipes on, the race pipes had a carb kit, this consisted of needle spacers, (1mm) and tank raising brackets plus slightly bigger jets this enable filter change and the airbox to breathe better as it was found to be very restrictive, but just for road use then i suggest 1mm needles spacers, this should remove the flat spot if not go to 2mm, they are just small washers. The remus pipes dont seem to need this.

Hay, great info on the carbs. I ended up getting the black widow system in the end. Early thoughts were the flat spot had gone but lost some top end. I can,t coment further as I'm having some engine trouble. Once fixed I'll post some more info.

Try to scale it down to 1024x768 before you upload the image.

Well done. Looks very nice. Now i wonder if you remeber which of the silencer length you have on your bike. There are four options : 230mm, 300mm, 400mm, 450mm?
