If it's only the indicator attachments that are different, in theory I can get them cut off of mine and welded onto the 1FN one.
Anyone any good at cutting and welding?

well I bought an early sub frame last week & fitted it in place of my 2MG one so I didn't have to drill holes in my top fairing. Just gone out to fit the inner trim panels & there are no lugs for the front bolts on either side. Not sure if they have been cut off as i spat my dummy & came indoors. If you're fitting an early frame to late bike & have holes in your top fairing for indicators then you should be ok cutting the mounts down & drilling them in line with the fairing holes.

Top fairings like rocking horse shit?
I've just found a company that makes them to order, FZ 750s quoted at £80.
They make them to order, takes 10-14 days and they bolt straight on apparently.
Assuming that I get mine back from the insurance company, I'll be buying one. I let you know how I get on.

And the news on my busted FZ is......
....the insurance company have written it off for £1300!
I only paid a grand for it at a dealer!
Anyway, all parts ordered (for £410 including some snazzy heated hand grips), and I'll post some pictured of the grand rebuild.
Which reminds me, I better get the cheque sorted for the headlight and frame I'm being sent.....

good fun the big bandit. Had to adjust my brain riding my mates this summer. My Fireblade wheelies in 1st & 2nd off the throttle no bother but failry high revs when it comes up. Bandit comes up in 1st but almost from tickover! Loads'a torque. ;D My BIL had a bandit 1200 and had it dyno jetted/tuned and when I had a go on it (came back from Birmingham to Preston on M6) I thought it was a SHED. Plenty of low down grunt and would go as fast as I could stand (with no fairing to tuck my middle aged frame behind) but you could actually see the fuel guage going down! All the Suzukis I have ever owned (and I have had two from brand new) have proved to be poorly engineered gas guzzlers.

my mate stays pretty much with me on his bandit 1200 up to 140mph! How the hell he holds on at that speed I will never know but I can not stop laughing when he does it. ;D private road of course.

Liability accepted, all parts ordered and most delivered. Just waiting on the top fairing. I've decided to buy a small piece of plate metal and make up brackets for the indicators myself, just bend them round the headlight frame and bolt tight, followed by repainting the whole caboodle. I'll let you know how I get on, with pictures if I can be bothered. Insidentally, I got a replacement original front half of the mudguard in the correct colour for £85+delivery from this lot. www.yamahascooterspares.co.uk/spares/default.aspVery helpful they were too...
