Hi all, yes I live in the land of vikings and have long since been ordained into the order of the pointy helmet. Originally from Stamford area UK, I moved here in 82. Lifelong biker and originally hard core Honda starting in 76´with a CB125T..the list then follows with 250N, 400T, CX500, CB750F2 and finally a CB1100R. Also traded for a CB200 but dont tell anyone. Over in DK its been a longstanding relationship with A Kawa Z1000 LTD form 81 which is now in bits for full resto and have had a string of Triumphs..Daytona 955i from 99 and from 04´, a Sprint 1050 ST which I have just traded in for new Tiger 800 XRT. Sooo, why join the forum. Well both my kids are bikers ( son lives in Japan ) and my daughter Kate traded her Suzuki Savage for a FZ about 4 years ago..straight swap..the man was off his rocker but he wanted to bob the savage so win for daughter. Always told her I would buy it off her anytime she wanted to sell it..she did..and I did. I read Practical Sportsbike but also the know the FZ is a true clasic with a spanking engine so it now sits proudly in my garage totally unaware that I am to strip it down for a resto. Now it says first registered in 89´ but its frame number says 2MG so its an 87´full fairing build. 16´ front which is lively to say the least. Not sure whether to resto in same Eddie Lawson red n white or whether to go for King Kenny yellow but its a long winter ahead. Its done 58000 km and runs a treat when warm but a pig when cold. Have had the carbs synched but the man ( who races supersports ) shrugs his shoulders and says wait til it warms up then go. Anyway..I ramble. Look forward to posting questions and info as it goes along. Regards Steve
