Hi guys,
Does anybody know the compression height of the stock piston for the 750 engine?
I`m making 3D model of the crank, rod and the cylinder assembly of the 750 motor for my friend who would like to oversize his 750 to 1000cm3. I need only this measure to complete the assembly. May be somebody can measure any piston? I`d appericate it.
Thanks alot and good luck.

Sorry can't help with the Q but an easier way to increas capacity would be to transplant the entire FZR1000 motor or at least the top end. Several threads exist on here for that mod.

Thank you for your reply, but it`s not possible in this case. He is going also to the race of the classic bikes. The tecnical regulation does not allow it, the carter, cilinder block and the head should be from the original model. Inside you can modify everytning that you want.
Still need data.

So the needed measurement is from the centre-line of the gudgeon (wrist US) pin to the crown of the piston? Someone on here should have one lying about surely! Karl where are you?

Yes, it is from the center-line of the wrist to the flat bottom of the piston. But it´s easier to measure it from the upper side of the wrist hole of the piston to the bottom.
Thanks a lot.

Has he got the 1ae engine or 2mgthe pistons r different as r the connecting rods 1ae piston is15.80mm plus 9 mm from the centre of the gudgeon pin to the piston crown 2mg piston is 14.56mm plus9 mm from gudgeon center to piston crown why on earth u need to make a 3 d model is beyond me it’s as fzjamie says the exterior of the fz750 and fzr1000 engine r identical save for perhaps oil line fittings to feed the oil cooler it’s the way to go not quite a 1000cc 989cc actually U lose the six speed box for a five speed but externally it’s the same which is you’re requirement EBay had an fzr1000 Genesis engine recently best of luck
