You found another early FZ with full fairing! This one looks to be coordinated better with the red and blue stripe in the right place. Nice to see you didn't have any problems posting your pics on here. Good luck with the Thunderace transplant. Lots of nice bits on them for your FZ.

Unfortunately the Facebook page has took over from this forum thanks mainly to the fairly instant responses you can get on there due to the number of members. It's a shame but had to be done. Forum still serves as a wealth of information if people are prepared to search for it.

This could be an absolute beast, there are some fitting issues to overcome, But well worth the effort, my bike was slightly different in that i had a complete pre-exup fzr1000 as a doner bike. I've seen it done, there some helpfully jap sites about on the web. Best of luck

Best of luck thanks i was going to do the fzr 1000 as its seems easier, just apart from the back wheel being 18" i may would had been swapped out for a 17" the thunderace will be a challenge. it might take me awhile but watch this space hope to pots again soon.

hello 17again, I initially used the fzr1000 swing arm and 18" wheel , but after a bit of measuring i used a fazer 600 swing arm and rear wheel 17 x 5 which give you lots of tyre choice and under-slung blue spot caliper from a fazer 1000 . Do you have any engineering mates because getting the chain run can require some machining to get it right, but if you thunderace motor sprocket offset in different you may not need too. i will have a look for the old indicators.

Great to see a new project on the forum. :-) With regard to the Fazer 600 swing arm/wheel mentioned. Is that a (relatively) easy swap?

managed to dry fit some of the ace bits today. forks had to grind off a bit the steering lock so the forks could move right over to the left. i put the clip ons as test on top of the yokes but still not sure about these. engine its just chucked in via 2 bolts went in ok. exhaust not sure what to do here just yet weather to try and fit a aftermarket one like a black widow (thunderace) it might give a bit more clearance. as it hits the centre stand bracket easy to cut off i know, thinking more about the footpegs bolts
