Hi folks, wondering what your experiences are with tyres? My 1987 FZ German import ( I live in Ireland) has rear Metzeler Lasertec 130/80 V 18 M/C ( 66V), and front Metzeler Lasertec 120/80 VB 16 M/C 160 V ( or possibly something the final letter V )
A good pal who raced extensively tells me that these tyres are good for 10000 miles and that's about all....
Having had a superb handling FZ in London back in 1985 , I was shocked by the dodgy handling of this 87 machine which I own for only about 2 months, so am reaching out for help...the bike itself is 100% original and must have been minded v v well ..I am chuffed to bits tbh
Any idea please?
Thanks Joe

Hello Joenolan, I have had a number of tyres on my 86 FZ, US Import. My best set of tyres are the Bridgestone BT45v's - 120(F) and 130(R). Outstanding handling with my bike. I do not know what sizes the newer BT46 tyres are produced, though. All the best, Kensea.

I had the metzler lazers on mine when I found it, they were completely worn out, made the bike feel like it was going to fall over in a turn. I replaced with the Avon Roadrider MKII, completely different bike, great set tires...
