I’m reluctantly selling my 1985 FZ750 fitted with a rebuilt Wiseco FZR1000 engine, only selling due to not having enough time to finish it.
Basic details are:
Engine: (Over $2,350 spent on engine)
1987 FZR1000 engine, fully rebuilt with:
Wiseco 1,029cc big bore kit $580
Re-bushed rods, refurbed head, ported, re-bored $676
All new seals, O’rings, shell bearings, output shaft (Common FZR issue), valve seals, full gasket set, clutch plates = $1094
Includes: FZR carbs with Dynoject stage 3 kit fitted & a 2nd std set of FZR1000 carbs, FZR radiator, FZR CDI unit, Micron ally race silencer (No headers).
I was going to strip the engine again and powdercoat the cases, it is currently painted and looks fine, but I wanted it to be perfect!, I was also planning to replace the primary chain guide as it was showing signs of wear, I couldn’t get the guide in the UK but I see they are available here in the US. Engine is really simple to strip, you can rebuild it in 1 day easy. If you don’t decide to do this then the cams just need timing and the valve clearances set as it is just dry built at present.
Comes with full FZR Yamaha workshop manual and FZ750 clymer manual.
Chassis: (Over $1,800 spent to date)
1985 FZ750 based chassis, Re-welded around rear shock mount
2000 YZF R6 yokes & forks fitted (Machined to accept speedo drive for FZ clocks), forks needs new seals, R6 discs & mudguard
FZR1000 swingarm & shock assy (Many ally machined bushes, some new shock linkage bushes included)
2000 YZF R6 wheels (120/17 & 180/17) fitted with Stainless rear spindle and ally machined chain adjusters, just needs rear spacers & caliper hanger to finish.
Also comes with a 2009 YZF R6 rear swingarm, shock & linkage (I haven’t tried to fit these but will include them in the sale, as I thought about upgrading further to 2009 R6 suspension, forks & wheels)
YZF R6 Blue spot brake caliper & front mastercylinder, need rebuilding with new seals I think
YZF750R clutch master cylinder (Smaller than the FZ unit with a remote reservoir)
ZXR750 underslung rear caliper
All zinc bolts and spacers have been re-plated.
My original plan was to build an Eddie Lawson replica with the tuned FZR1000 engine and modern suspension, a lot of the work has been started and it is at the dry build stage. Will make a great bike but I just don’t have time to finish it, to date I have spent many hours and over $5500 on the bike, so your chance to get it at a steal, either as parts for an FZR or FZ or as a full bike.
Below is a huge selection of pictures, from the original bike, shots of the bike as I stripped it, Shots of the engine rebuild, and sots of how it stands now and all the spares that come with it.:

The bike is a UK bike that I imported here when we moved to MN last year, I have all the import documents, and as the bike is over 25yrs old, it does not need to meet EPA regulations.
I am not in a rush to sell it so I can keep it if someone wants to collect it later, if I don’t get a reasonable price I will probably keep it and finish it off at some stage. I wanted to post it here for the forum to see first and if there are no takers I’ll post it on Ebay/Craigslist etc. I really hope it will go to a FZ fan who finishes it off
Feel free to give me a call if you have any questions, the bike comes as a whole as I don’t have time to part it out.
Cheers
