How is it I can have a 7 kph read error (actual 93 on GPS at 100 ) with a stock front wheel when it's a mechanical cable/gear design? Are the speedo's adjustable? I hope this is a dumb question and I'm missing the obvious Dave

Dave, every car or bike I have fitted my sat nav to has always read more than my actual gps speed indicates. It seems to be an industry standard that all speedo's over-read by a certain amount. My vivaro van says 105mph when the sat nav only shows 98mph for example.

I expect some error since it is a mechanical speedo but your getting 7mph difference at 105...that's MPH. I'm seeing 7 kph at 100KPH. My error is most likely huge at 169kph(105mph). Yikes. I don't know if it gets worse as the speed increases but I assume it does. I need to go "investigate" ;D But officer.....

Dave,Jap speedos (electric or mechanical) have always been notorious for inaccuracy. On El Mirage Lakebed my ZX12 would read upwards of 182mph when the timing lights spit out a 169mph slip. Granted theres some wheelspin, but not 13mph worth. Every bike I've had usually had a 3-7 mph optimistic variance that got worse as speed increased.
