Hey Nads, thanks for the pics. It's great you've kept your bike original condition after all these years. Wow, even the original exhaust. The 21,000kms is a mystery to me...how do you stay off the damn thing???!! ;D By the way, did you order those snow tires in special? LOL Dave

Dave - the answer to low kms is the usual story of family taking priority and other bikes to ride as well. The pipes are not original - they shat themselves after 18 months. Managed to get a nice reproduction set a few years back. Navigating snow was interesting and could have done with chains.

Hi, I was about to ask how you found the Lasertec tyres, till Rangerdave called them snow tyres. BMW used them for a lot of their models, anyway!, I like your bikes, but your pictures reminded me to clean up my garage, cheers, trinity.

Hey just joking about the snow tires Nads. Here in Canada it's kind of a running joke that we have two seasons, winter and August! If they sold snow tires for a bike, someone here would buy them! Anything to extend our too short riding season. I tried to find a matching set of metzeler's last month as well and couldn't. It seems a lot of people love 'em and they're hard to find. What model of parts did you replace your front calipers and rotors with? Dave

Yeah the metzelers are about the only 16 inch tyre available. I had to put a new one on recently as after 10 yrs the old one had gone a bit hard. Found out the hard way at a track day when nearly lost it.
Calipers are from 05 FZ6 - they bolt straight on - plus new braided lines. Could have used original disks but experimenting with some I picked up off ebay. Not happy with performance so far and may need to consider different master cylinder.
Would love to do a ride across US through Canada at some point. I'll remember to plan it for August.
