Engine and finishing off the chassis stuff next....god knows how long until the next interesting post Cheers

Nice work, aren't Exup swingarms awesome to look at? Hows the zx10 shock? is it a straight fit?

Here is the latest edition of my oh so slow fz build This little part started with a a partially stripped fzr1000 genesis lump. I stripped down my existing 2mg lump and then offered the 1000 crank up against my 750 cases, subtracted the numbers and then bought new shells to suit. Stripped the paint and masked up the cases was a job from hell, but the result was good Next it was the gearbox, starter clutch etc all new bearings, drive chains + new starter clutch kit. The 1000 topend had signs of a head gasket gone so i had the barrel/head skimmed & the barrels where also treated to a hone and new piston rings New stem seals, valves lapped...oh it was painful doing all 20 of the buggers, shims also job jobbed...living the dream eh finally done, i just need Hulk Hogan to pot by to help me lift it all in I hope that has not sent you all to sleep!

Looks lovely that. Lapped all my valves in also then noticed I had lost all my valve clearances because of it! Happy days.

Just uploaded a pic of the bike in the bits for sale (selling the Remas pipe), This is how she looks at the moment, the calliper is off but I think you can see how she is coming along, just got to sort out the carbs...basically rebuild them. You can see the LC and TZR250 in the back ground...its official i'm stuck in the 80's I need to paint the oil filler it sticks out like a sore thumb. I have aggravated an old knee injury so bike building progress has been slow ....this getting old lark can be a bit sh1t at times! More close up pics to follow, she may not be everyone's cup of tea having the 2MG back and the 1FN paint job etc but I fancied being different and its its growing on me

Just wink and say it's a prototype. Car companies often disguise testing mules with the bodywork of an existing model. I bet motorcycle companies do the same, and Yamaha may have done that too back in the day. That's really amazing looking. Scott

Hi everyone, well the bike is finally finished, I finally got the bike running properly all electrics sorted etc To be honest this bike has fought me all the way....I actually fell out of love with it completely, in the end I was flogging a dead horse. The carb bodies where so worn within the slides it was not running low down...eventually I found this out. I ended up fitting a set of exup carbs with stage 3 dynojet, open k&ns...she now rips all the way up the rev range. Still not sure weather to paint the wheels another colour and possibly polish the swing arm. Anyway, loads of pics below...I hope all approve.

Cheers Graham, the jury is out as to if she is a keeper, my old sporting injuries have got bad and i'm struggling to ride a bike at the mo....not giving up yet though, going under the knife next week to hopefully sort it.....you can't keep a good man down I'm tempted to build a 911 lump over winter...oh i know how to live!

Pete, your bike looks stunning and is just the look I hope to re-create on the 1FN I am restoring. Can you tell me where you sourced your stainless nuts and bolts from? Cheers James
