i have done the jets now and the 2 mg cdi, it goes a lot better but still doesnt feel right at the top half of the rev range to be honest a bit slower than the fz not reving as freely, still feels like there are more ponies in the engine somewhere, where would i get the 125 air jets from, are they the ones that screw in the back of the carb? any one got some Fz ones to sell if they are the same or close. or even fz carbs maybe !! also had my exup arm and wheel delivered to day and off of work for a week now so i can put them on

Hi Alison,
Just a thought - have you had a look at the headers? I think I've heard somewhere that they were restricted there as well as the airbox.

hiya , i have an after market pipe on it now, stainless and viper can, so i dont think its that, i will try the new clocks i have coming as they are uk ones, and dont have the flashing red light to tell me when i am going 80 and being naughty, some one has said that it may be that the timing retards when it gets to certain revs and it could be controlled by a diode in the clocks like Jap marker nc 30 or gsxr750 ?

I'm sure with some uk clocks and cdi it should cure the restriction?? i didnee think anything pre 1990 was restricted.....only the french market bikes?

You can use a 2mg Cdi or the 1000 2GH one, the rev limit is around the same it is only the advance curve that is different. I think I have a 2mg CDI box around somewhere will have a look & let you know.
