Just thought you might like to know, I have a 1fn, just fitted the later single pickup motor, it still has the 1fn loom fitted but with a 2mg igniter and ignition coils, took a leap of faith and swapped the wires around in the block connector that plugs into the igniter as per oxygene's sketches, shut my eyes and hit the button and bloody hell it runs!!!

Yeah it maybe is, I have that manual too but the problem I had was that it only shows the five wires going into the igniter and not the positions they take in the block connector.

...the clymer manual the wiring diagram page 302 fz700t 1987 is the 2mg wiring diagram... That's the one I've always used. I can't say about the lighting etc. but it has been correct for anything I've worked on.

Hi, I am a pole, sorry for spelling! I bought a YAMAHA FZ750-engine motorcycle with a defective, old engine and the mail marking 1FN. I bought another engine, but the new designation of the new engine is 2 mg. mg has one shaft position sensor (I think), on the right side of the motor shaft position sensor and the left is nothing. I don't know about there should be, whether it should be plugged or should there be some kind of sensor? Shaft position sensor is too large. As in the topic, the old module is TID14-39, and now is the new engine module should be 2 mg and TID14-56, in the post I can not to read or just the cables from the module after turning the cubes, as described oxygeneuk and moto, or do I need to buy a TID14 walk-56, after replace cables and moto it will be?

Later 2MG engine only has 1 crank sensor. Earlier 1FN has 2. I know nothing about getting 2MG engine to run with 1FN ignition module & wires sorry. Looks like Robbo350 has got his 2MG engine running with 1FN wiring loom & ignition module. Try sending him a message to see which wires he moved in the module plug.

To convert 1FN to 2MG or 2GH (1000) is to swap two wires in the block connector to the CDI box, will have to look at the wiring diagrams to confirm colours but it is as simple as that. I did this when I fitted a 1000 engine in my 1FN & am shortly about to fit a 2MG into a 1FN. It is a simple conversion. The best wiring diagrams are the Yamaha ones. They tell you exactly in the connector where the wires go. Will try & confirm this one for you all.

First try to replace the cables, and connect the module from 1fn, as it will not avail to buy a cube as a cube does not help (though in my opinion as I mention this module will walk) ... it's a pile of electrical beam from mg I.. Or maybe someone from the forum module is mg?
