I have a 1988 FZ 750 for sale. It runs but needs the valves adjusted. I am asking $1700 for it. Needs to be trailered when you buy it.I don't have the money or the time to finish it. I have had the carbs rebuilt and have painted it.If interested, call Mike at 951-973-8280. No calls after 8pm please. The bike is located in Murrieta, California.I can email pics once we talk.

I am doing the valves on this bike. The clearances on the valves should be at 11/1000ths but they are ranging from 4/1000 all the way to 10/1000.Does anyone know what size shims I need to get these set and where can I get the shims in So.Cal or online?

So you have all the measurements for all of the valves written down? Now you need to split it and remove the shims that are in. The valves that are 7 thou under, need some shims that are 7 thou less than they are now, in order to get your clearances back to 11 thou. The ones that are only 1 thou out should be left. I'm fairly sure there are some good posts on valve clearances on here, that will tell you what the clearances are supposed to be. Let us know how you get on.
