In which case it's not ignition (unless one of them is bypassing the plug)

Not looked at it since last week but think I had more than 1 problem crusty. Plug cap has cured one of them but still not entirely happy the way it's running.

Update; My suspicions confirmed. I managed to make up another good set of carbs from the spare sets I have. Paid a bit more (lot more actually) attention to the pilot jets this time. Man they are fiddly little feckers! Used some speaker wire with just 3 or possibly 4 strands twisted together to clean out the middle of the pilot jets & hey presto, no bogging down when I rev the engine now. I will go over the set I took off next as they are slightly better looking & try the 108 jets I got from somewhere. Ooh & I also managed to free off the clutch whislt the engine was running. ;D Next job, make some new collets for the Micron exhaust I acquired from Crusty. Got all the steel tube I need & won the set of 4 header brackets on ebay last night, Hooraaaaaayyyyy. Ran out of gas for my welder last week, Booooooooo. I "think" I might be coming to the end of my list of jobs to do on this bike?.. . yeah right.

Nice
I still think the best bet would be to get some nice thick stainles pipe and machine it down though. Thats what the originals are made of.

Bit beyond me & my tools that. I can get mild steel for free as long as I don't take the piss. Gone in to penny pinching mode again lately so will knock something up myself & see if it works. Can always have something made from stainless at a later date if I'm feeling fruity. ;D

Mild steel will work. they just won't last as long (think to 3-5 years rather than 20 years.)

I'm likely having this one until it either I dies or it does. Judging by the money I spend on it, it'll be me dying first....

They posted something about fitted kitchens which would have been okay but it was a bit wordy & I got bored reading it. Pure fluke I logged in/on? about 5 minutes after they posted it. ;D

Back on topic, Stripped my main set of carbs again today to see if I had missed anything. 2 things I noticed that were different to the set that are fitted & working now. Air/pilot screws are all out 3 whole turns on the carbs that don't work properly against the working carbs 2 turns out & the main jet holders don't have the teeny little O ring inside them where the Main jet screws in. Not sure that either of these things would give the symptoms I have but then I'm no expert either. None of the jets were blocked.

There's only thing that is important. Have you tried and are satisfied with the current working carbs? If so, use them....
