Looks awesome! My guess is that's a YZF750 swingarm and fork. Also... How did you work that fork on there? Would love some details as I'd rather get an inverted style fork on my FZ.

Very close. The rear end is YZF750, the front is R1 4XV. Little bit of machining work to make it fit but not loads so quite a cheap swap. I've just bought a very trick ZXR750 ex race bike with spare dymags and marvics so they might be finding their way into it next!! A company called Projection Components did the work for me who I can recommend if you need anything doing. Fatbloke.

I assume the wheel is off the R1 as well? I found a cheap set of yzf 750 forks that are leaking oil. I assume they are very close to the R1's you used there. Did you press in the steering tube off an FZ? Or machine the steerer that was on the fork already?

Haven't got the fork yet but was intending to press an FZ/FZR stem into the R1 yoke - any info would be gratefully received ;D Who did you get the ZXR750 from? A couple of guys from your neck of the woods (Rob Bean and Dave Court) raced them in Thunderbike UK, also the Walkey brothers from Crawley use them

Hi there Just to add to the confusion the wheels are YZF750 as they still use a speedo drive. The YZF discs are too big though so I need a pair of 300mm ones from a TRX or similar. The FZ stem was machined down and pressed into the R1 yokes. The ZXR is from a friend of a friend who now has MS. Im still not sure what to do with it yet as there are so many spares and extras with it. I might clear enough to leave me with enough to bits to make up a very nice track bike or possibly day time MOT only. Who knows, I need to finish the FZ first!!

Great info! Thank you. Sounds like a project for a later date for me tho as I would have to re-buy a lot of stuff. Not really wanting to back track, I want to finish my FZ as well!

Thanks for the info. The ZXR is a great track bike, the geometry is better than the FZs (I know - heresy ). I was sharing the Walkey brother's awning at Brands a couple of years ago and a middle aged Japanese gentleman in a sports jacket was paying a lot of attention to the ZXRs. He eventually told us, through an interpreter, that he was the designer! Very cool - didn't stop Colin telling him where he'd gone wrong though ;D.

Hi Kev Im not a fan of adapter plates, think they look a bit clumsy. Things aren't moving on very well atm as ive got the LC in bits and just bought a YZF750 with a 1000 motor in it that needs a few jobs too!! FB
