I'm intending to build it in one form or another. I was going to use OW01 plastics but the FZ stuff looks ok and would be cheaper. Stupidly, I broke rule 1 and bought a frame - by the time I've sourced all the spacers, bolts and gubbins it would probably have been cheaper to buy a complete FZR1000/750.

That's gonna look the bollocks, I once saw a project for sale in Scotland on the bay along the same lines only it still had the original silver and red paint and it looked superb, is yours gonna be for the track Gav?

Yes, the intention is to build it as a race bike. I checked with the technical officer and it would be eligible for Thunderbikes I'll leave the sidestand on it for the time being and may put it through an MOT but lights etc. would add too much weight and complexity - I've learned to love the stripped down simplicity of my FZ. I fitted the engine cradles this morning and moved the fairing into the position it would have to be - still looks good, especially with my original home-made seat unit, so I'm going to build it . I'll post another picture later.

I think I'll be monitoring this build closely... I have a FZR frame on the side of my house that will one day probably come back to life. ;D

I'm getting quite excited about this - Steve Spencer reckoned that the optimum wheelbase for an FZ would be about 1400mm but it's very difficult to get them under 1420mm. I just measure this as it sits (admittedly after I parked my pushbike in the garage on my return from the pub ) and with the shortened swingarm it's... 1400mm ;D
