So if anyone fancies coming along for a day out and to see some great racing then you are more than welcome. Come along and say hello, my number is: 221. All events have camping facilities and there is always beer available! ;D I hope to see some of you throughout the season! Cheers Keith
Hello mate, yeah that's me. Managed to get in touch with the bloke who's got Simon and phil's old fz racers (is one of them your old bike?) so got as much race spares as I can afford coming. Doubt I'll be able to afford to do the full season but we'll see what I can beg and borrow
The shortened 2mg swingarm off Phil's bike would be good to have and afaik Simon's 1FN engine has only done one season since Phil Spencer refreshed it so that should be good for another without blowing up. Phil killed about half the UK stock of FZ engines in his last season - I don't know what was in it when he retired it ;D. I've still got mine - I've just stripped it this week to repair all the damage I did to it last year. I usually get to at least one TB round - I'll come and say hello.
Unfortunately today I have had to cancel my entry for Mallory this coming Sunday This was due to the fact that I had taken my front forks to a local engineering firm to have them reamed out to take a 17mm front spindle, not only did they manage to drill the hole off centre (how the f**k can you drill a hole off centre when there is one there to start with perfectly central??) but they also managed to drill it on the piss! So when I fitted the wheel it was actually runnig at an angle! This you may think is no big deal... well its not, well not untill you try to bleed the brakes up!! We tried everything to get around this from shortening one leg in the yokes to opening up the holes to try and level the spindle. We got pretty close, the brake was just binding but I thought we may get away with it, but on the final bleed of the brakes its starting to drag. I cant afford to run the risk of it locking up on the way into gerrards! Apart from the potential damage it sounds like a great deal of pain!! I have put a wanted add on here for some FZR 1000 yokes but now I need a complete FZR front end. I am absolutely gutted that Im going to miss the first meeting of the year, but hope I can beg, steal or borrow a front end to be able to get out for the next round in April. If anyone can help me out with a front end, I would very much appreciate it. Regards Keith
vtr: Hi from cape town; new at forum's not at bike building; the insanity is contagious. Recently acquired a "1FU" FZ750 with dropped valves and decided cool to rebuild as a 911conversion sleeper, what we do to ourselves...

grahamfirestorm: Can anyone tell me why my bike doesn't seem to light up after 7000rpm like all the research I did before buying it.She has the standard 4 into 1 exhaust, carbs rebuilt with new jets,seals,floats,2 new diaphragms, all valve clearances checked and adjusted?

grahamfirestorm: She revs round to 10000rpm ok,but there is no urgency with it,my 1987 Kawasaki gpx750 was a lot quicker, and that was supposed to be 10-15 bhp down, ive been told the standard silencer and air filter are to blame but I don't believe that.

Graham : grahamfirestorm. Do you have standard size main jets fitted to your carbs? I would be tempted to go up a size or even two to see if it helps the bike pull stronger at high revs.
