Hello all. I just spooned on a set of Bridgestone BT45v's - 120(F) and 130(R) - on my 86 FZ. I was wondering what a good baseline for air pressure might be? Ran 38/38 psi in the Dunlop 501/Arrowmax(?) with very good results for a number of years. Warm weather in SLC, Utah, 200 lb rider w/gear, sporty riding; but likely slower than you... Thanks in advance for your sage input...Ken

You have good roads in your part of the world don't you? Guys I ride with who go a lot faster than me run between 30 - 40 psi. Remember that tyres gain a bit when hot (manuals say around 3-5 psi). I have BT45's on mine and run 34/36 but our roads are crap so need a bit of extra softness to help the suspension with the bumps.

Thanks pkay. Yes, the roads around here are generally in good shape. I think I might start at 36/38 and see how they feel. If anyone else has an insight as the "ideal" tire pressure for the BT45s, please feel free to contribute. Thanks, Ken

Things that make you go "Ummm?" I went stalking around the interweb to FZ750.com; accessed via the Japanese site; FZ750 Freaks. I am unsure if either site is still viable, but here is what I found. The Bridgestone BT45s are/were the most popular replacement tire for the FZ in Europe. Most riders on that site use a 32/36 psi combination. This being the case, I think I will revise my starting pressures to pkay's suggestion of 34/36. Anyone have erudite input to add? Anyone.... All the best, Ken

Just a quick update. BT45v tires on, running 34/36 like pkay suggested. Need to get them "scrubbed in" with the 100 miles/160 Km as suggested to trust how they feel at the upper end of my comfort zone/riding abilities. (..remember, I am most likely slower than you.) Very nice so far. Now all I need is the time to ride the FZ.

Well, still not a ton of miles on the new Bridgestone BT45v's, but I can say with confidence that they are great tires. They warm up nicely and are much stickier than the old, age-hardened tires they replaced. Highly recommended by an older,"slower than you" guy. New rubber is a wonderful thing...
