I noticed Classic Mechanics has an article on the FZ
I get pi££ed off when magazines do articles on bikes that have had money spent on them.
I know there are all types of bikes but lets take the FZ.
Last year there was a mag that asked for unusual FZ's I sent them pics and specs but got no reply.
When I saw the article I realised why.
The bikes had money spent on them or had history or were connected.
Some even did not work and were incomplete. Anyone can throw money at a bike and have an ex race bike/parts know
someone famous but bikes should be ridden.
I would not buy the Mona Lisa and keep it in a dark room.
Now the recent article had a lovely red and grey one (the best looking) and had newer front and rear on it.
It is very clean and well presented.
Something my bike is not. Which is why it will not be accepted for a magazine photo shoot as they want pretty models for eye candy.
I am proud of my bike and the work I have done to it.
It is a very honest garage built and ridden bike yes it is rough looking but that is how I made it. Plain black no pretty colours.
It is an original it rides runs and handles really really well and everyone that has had a go on it comes back with a smile on their face.
It also sounds superb I suppose intimidating in a way but not loud.
I have the same snobbery on other websites I have 4 Yamahas all different. As I am not restoring the bike and it is not standard and they are is used daily
my posts do not get many replies. Now if I asked for a nut size or shade for paint the answers come flooding in.
So if I have a standard bike and am totally anal about parts I am in the club woo bloody hoo.
Each to their own I know that just want to voice a few things.
I ride bikes as Mr Yamaha intended, I have been an instructor, examiner and courier and am involved with GP and WSB my life is about bikes.
I have been in magazines before but that was with standard bike I had just bought and I did another article because I was known to the magazine.
