Ok so I have had my nice little '85 FZ750 sitting out for a while in my garage, just waiting for some work... ran great, but I picked up for FREE (well with some swapping for it for free stuff anyways); a '90 FZR1000. I was wondering whether to keep the FZR and fix it up and neglect my FZ750, or swap on all the good stuff from the '90 FZR onto it - and I mean everything, front forks, rear swingarm, harness, exhaust, and 1000 motor. I think this is the route I am going to take.
So - I know there is lots and lots of information out there regarding swapping in an FZR swingarm in for the larger 17 inch wheel and with radial tires. I know I could research for weeks on old posts all over the internet on how to do this... however I am going to ask straight out - anyone with information or links to other past upgrades (swapping in an '89 or newer FZR1000 swingarm with the FZR1000 wheel) into the FZ750 frame, would be much appreciated. I know that I will need to eliminate the centrestand mound to make room for the suspension link... anything else related to the proper fitting of this in would be much appreciated.
If I can nail this upgrade down, the motor and harness, are time consuming but not difficult as they are a swap-in. As well for the front end, I also have a Thundercat front which is an exact swap in; however I will try and put in the FZR1000 front. At most I have to press in a new neck, which is not difficult. So the big hand up would be the swing arm swap. Again, saving me weeks of research, any thing you guys can forward me on this would be muchly appreciated...

Oh ok,... have not been on this board for a while now, but I am finally getting to the end of my busy year, and maybe just maybe have time now to start my swap of all my '90 FZR1000 parts onto my nice little FZ750 FN -
Again, any support at all or links to getting a '90 EXUP FZR swingarm swapped in? Would love to have all the bits I may need before hand, and before I start tearing apart a running but stripped FZR1000 down to the bare frame. Once I start I will never swap back together, and I certainly would love some advice before tearing apart an otherwise working bike.
Looks like the FZR swingarm mounting point is very nearly the same width as the FZ750 swingarm. I know the stand mount has to go on the FZ, and I may need to mod the shock mount on top to make an FZR shock fit... any links I can get pointed in the right direction to? Thank you gentlemen.

Hi
I think most of the info regarding these swaps is embedded in this forum - you just need to pick it out.. TBH I think traffic here is pretty scarce as Facebook continues to dominate except for us die-hard, old timers.. FWIW I acquired a spares 750 last year which has a rear s/a swap already. could be FZR1000 Exup even. I have no knowledge of how it went in but I could maybe take some pics.

Genesis 1000 (pre exup) is straight swap, no machining required. Square box section ally much like the FZ but fatter. Exup arm is fatter towards the front, tapering as it gets to the chain adjusters. Moderate machine work required at pivot point. For what it's worth they (exup arms) always look too short once fitted to an FZ.. . in my opinion anyway.
