Hiya Pete. Not too far from me in Redditch. Facebook page has kind of stole a lot of traffic from here but it was inevitable really. What series will you be racing in?

Hi Graham, I haven't looked at the Facebook page. I've tried it with other forums and always find it difficult to navigate, suppose I'm a bit old school ish. I'm trying to get my bike ready for the crmc series which starts in March. I was surprised to find my valve shims were all out at 25k,half of them could be swapped but I need 10 to complete the job. They're a bit pricey. I also couldn't believe the price of a gasket set!!. I managed to source the very last black widow set of headers,4-2-1. which I believe should be good. Do you race yourself? Regards Pete

Graham, I've just been on Facebook, saw a post of yours regarding rust removal from a fuel tank,I didn't know how to reply as I know how to remove every bit...easily.

No I don't race my FZ. Road riding only & not much of that these days. Have a look at the "shims available" thread on here or post on the "shims wanted" one. Are you going to spill the beans on the rust removal or is it a secret?

Electrolysis with an old school battery charger, don't go mental with the soda crystals. Works an absolute treat,no need to remove any parts, just fill it up and plug in,when the tiny bubbles stop your done. I had a mate that worked at a dulux decorator centrr, with one of those paint shakers, filled my tank with dry wall screws and shook it for a few minutes, didn't touch it!! I'll put a post up re the shims, hopefully I'll get some joy 👍

Aaahh yes I tried that a few years ago. It took days & didn't get rid of it all. Stuff I used at the weekend has done the trick nicely. Deox -C Bilt Hamber. I will seal it this time in a bid to stop it coming back.

I'm surprised,it's always worked like a champ for me. Watch what you seal it with, modern fuels will ruin the sealant. I'm not having any luck with the shims sadly.

I won't be using PET seal again. Had problems with it all coming off inside my old fireblade tank years ago.
