Hello all,
I am looking for opinions on a rear shock to replace my sacked out stock unit. I have located two direct swaps; a Hagon and YSS that I can purchase in the US. Is one of higher quality, or, performance better on one or the other? Not racing, just a great bike to ride on the street when it's turn comes up in my M/C rotation. 190 lbs with full gear, average or slightly better riding skills. Riding for 40+ years, I ride every day when the weather agrees, store for winter. Thanks for the read, and look forward to the input, if you, the members of this site would be able to share your knowledge.
Cheers, Ken.

Hi Ken. I think Hagon and YSS are generally considered to be an improvement over the original unit. Both companies are based in the UK so not sure how good the after sales service would be for you. I know the Hagon shocks can be rebuilt. I would expect both to be tailored for your needs/weight before you order one. I've had Hagon shocks fitted to many of my previous bikes. I have one on my FZR1000 and one on my FJ1200. To be honest just about anything is going to be an improvement over your tired old original shock. I have dealt with the staff at Hagon over the phone. very helpful.

Thank you, Graham,
I will look into the Hagon shock. It seems to be available through "British Cycle Supply Co." in the USA and in Canada.
I am a bit amused that all you crafty Brits with blazing spanners did not weigh in on this topic. Still would enjoy any and all wisdom and input on this matter, if one feels like it.
All the best, Ken.

You need to post more often Ken old chap. BTW I'm still running an OEM shock.. I'm never suro if my riding skills could ever benefit from better. I did grease the linkage and paint the spring once though..

fzjamie,
You are one of the few FZ 750 owners that received a great stock shock. My stock shock has lived all of its nine lives. Adequate skill level,no racing or track events. I did the Champ U online course recently and try to keep up on my sport specific literature. Safety, Fun, Learning.
I will be in true awe if your front brake rotors are not warped and still stock. Hold on to that bike...
All the best, Ken.
