This is my main bike, 1993 fox eye Honda fireblade with Rothamns rep' paint scheme & TTS big bore conversion making it roughly 980cc. I have a dyno print out showing 135bhp which makes it such a pleasure to ride. All my recent pictures of it are on my phone so until I work our how to get them on to my pc these will have to do. The Fireblade replaces this little gem, my trusty Yammy TRX850. This is how it looked whilst I was using it. The entire front end from the above picture now lives on my main FZ750. & this is how it looked when I sold it. This is one of my favourite picture of me & it at the Nurburgring in August 2009. Before the TRX i had a break from bikes for roughly 5 years then before that I had a Japanese import Yamaha RZ250RR which was on a G plate but actually a 1984 model. I have pictures but they are old fashioned "actual" photo's so until I can be bothered to scan them & wot not you will have to take my word for it. It was a lovey bike in very good condition and a fair bit quicker than my mates 350F2 ! ;D

Nice pics, Graham. The blade looks great and I'll bet it's fun on the track. Rained all day so didn't get mine put together but I'm off out now to see if I can put the plastic back on. Get those other pics scanned for us.

OK Tom will see what i can do. Edit; Try this then. Bottom left picture is pre- restoration & pretty much how I bought it, siezed suspension linkage, knackered wheel bearings etc. I stripped this bike down to the frame when it started making a screaming noise from the gearbox one night on the M1. No I didn't strip the bike on the M1, the noise started on the M1 silly. I was on my way north to ST Helens to visit my sister in November & it was one of the windiest nights I can remember. I was being blown from one lane across to another from the side winds & there was nothing I could do about it ! Looking back it was probably the best thing that could have happened to me (breaking down) or I might have been killed or even worse, done some terminal damage to my engine ! Turns out some idiot had neglected to check the gear oil & it was stupidly low which caused 1 or 2 bearings to get rather hot (go purple from the heat) & squeal in protest. In brief I had the frame & wheels shot blasted & powder coated white (no shit Sherlock), swing arm was chrome plated as were the exhaust cans & foot peg brackets. Engine was stripped, crank bearings & journals replaced along with new pistons & rings & a rebore. Could I source the right pistons for a Jap spec RZ250 ? Could I f**k so I looked at every 125cc piston that Yamaha made before deciding on TZR ones as they were pretty much identical regards the ports. It was a pretty good call. The bike would regurlarly show 120mph on the clocks & was quicker off the line than my mates 350ypvs at the time. Needless to say he was so upset by this he sold his 350 & bought a ZXR750 ! ;D To this day I can't resist a bike if it's white with a splash of blue on it so this bike probably started that trend for me. I was glad to see the back of it when it sold around 10 years ago now as mechanical spares were a bit of an arse to find (not much in common with the 350 would you believe !) but wish I still owned it now. Oh, & I'm not a giant (6ft nothing), they are just fairly small bikes.

I am lodging with my mate at the moment so space is a bit limited. Had to empty the garage the other week to have a sort out as neither of us can find any of our stuff. Thought they looked pretty cool on his drive so took a few pics. All mine except for the GSXR1000. ;D
