I have lost the key to my replacement tank which is being painted this week. Having looked everywhere I can think of it hasn't turned up so I'm thinking I will have to force it off when it comes back which means I will need another cap, preferably with a key. It's the early type which comes off completely not the later one on a hinge. I can do cash, cheque or paypal, fankooooo.

Thanks for the link but the one I "was" after is a different type to that. Early cap which comes completely off, not bolted & hinged. Like dis, The good news is that my ex called me last night to tell me that she has found the key for my cap ! ;D Woo hoooooooooooo ! I bought a cap & key off ebay but it was rough & I really didn't fancy drilling my mint cap's lock so I'm well happy today. Just need to pluck up enough courage to go fetch it from her now.

Terrence, I looked at the ebay link. Do those caps just twist on? I saw the comment about hot weather and thought about drilling a pinhole vent. My cap is fubar as the previous owner lost the key and resorted the the screwdriver method of opening. I may need to get one of those on ebay. Thanks, Kevin

Yup just a twist. If you don't jam it on there, pressure will build up making it tighter, it's been fine for me. I go 1/4 pass snug. I use my two thumbs to open!
