Hi everybody - newbie here . I'm a displaced kiwi living in Los Angeles for the last twenty years . I raced an FZ750 back in the day and have always loved them - superior bike to the early GSXR's in my mind - no doubt . I own and operate an independant motorcycle repair shop in LA called Prospeed Motorcycles - we specialize in 60's-90's bikes - the ones i love and used to race . If i can help anyone with parts or knowledge let me know . I plan on building my own FZ750 based pre89 race bike to take back to NZ to race at Paeroa soon .

Hi and welcome, New around here myself as I'm just starting on my pre 89 FZ racer build here in Christchurch. I love street races but so far have only competed in the South Island ones in pre82. Always wanted torace Paeroa (and the cemetary circuit for that matter) lots of history made there.
Look forward to seeing pics of your project.
Cheers Red

Good to see another Kiwi here. You are right about FZ vs GSX comparison and still a great bike to ride on the track.

AANNNDDDDD HERES ANOTHER KIWI; WHO SAYS THEY CANT FLY GOT AN FZ; YEAH YOU CAN FLY!!! I LOVE THE OLD GIRLS; IVE GOT THREE OF THEM; ALL BE IT NOT WORKING BUT AM AIMING TO RESOLVE THAT. i;LL NEVER FORGET HTE FIRST TIME I RODE ONE; AN EARLY N MODEL AND ONE OF THE FIRST INTO NZ. I HAVENT RIDDEN MANY MORE MODERN BIKES; TO COMPARE BUT I FIGURE THE FZ IS GOOD VALUE; CAN BE MADE TO LOOK THE BIZ; AND HAD AN ENGINE DESIGN SOME WHAT AHEAD OF ITS TIME . SORT OF A SHAME YAM WENT TO THE FOUR VALVE AND DROPPED THE 750. iD LIKE TO TURBO MINE; AND HAVE GOT LOTS OF IDEAS; BUT AT PRESENT A1000 TOP END MIGHT BE THE GO. i LOVE THE FACT YOU CAN GET THESE OLD FZ S AT CHUMP CHANGE MONEY AND MAKE THEM A SHED LOAD MORE MODERN; AND PERSONALSED. THUMBS UP TO MY FELLOW KIWIS; MAY SEE YOU OUT THERE ONE DAY.
