Normally I would say no on a classic sports bike and that they only really suit modern stuff but that really looks the part on your bike in my opinion Graham.

Put a notch in the against column.
It's not to my taste.
Having said that it's not my bike so if you like the look just go for it.

To be honest i don't like huggers BUT they are a great extra if your in all conditions etc..i just like to see the whole rear wheel open to view etc

To be honest, I was looking for a hugger for mine because I ride in all weathers, but they don't make them. Looks cool.

I'm leaning towards without at the moment not just because it's easier. It looks better in the pictures than in real life. Do like the idea of protecting my new shock so am thinking of riveting a rubber flap to the existing plastic inner tray. Would be nice to get it running properly first with a working clutch.

Looks good to me, and helps keep crud off the rear suspension too.

I'd keep it. It's pretty unobtrusive and should help the bottom bushing between the shock and relay arm which is prone to corrosion and only available from Yamaha, at an outrageous cost

Shelved the hugger idea for now but here is my latest addition. 17" Thundercat rear wheel. Just need to shave off another .5mm from caliper bracket & it's there. Mate who makes stainless exhaust systems for porsches is coing to cut & weld the Micron link pipe so it points up a bit more & clears the swingarm with can fitted. Progress?

The micron is looking like more trouble than it was worth.
Back end is looking a bit pointy-upwards. I know it's the Streetfighter thing but I don't like it. Each to their own though.
Did you ever get the hugger to fit?

Mate it's not as bad as it looks. Smaller wheel & tyre plus paddock stand make arse end look really high. It's not. Micron has proved to be a real pain in the ass but much like the rest of the bike I refuse to give up on bits of metal.
