ok so i have cleaned my carbs and it ran ok, had good compression, then i pulled my camshaft and put it all back together now it just seems like my motor has no compression and will not start i have lined the dots up with the cam collar " _ . " at the tdc and it just turns free put a compression tester on it and it doesnt even read did i do the cams wrong wtf happened please help this bike has been doing my head in

TDC (the 'T' visable via the little window on the side of the crank) with the camshaft in the correct position should not have affected compression. That's how it was in the first place before you started pulling it apart in the first place.
Did you turn the engine over by hand after fucking with the valve timing? How did you check compression? Have you moved anything else valve-wise beyond the cam?

yes it has been moved by hand after pulling the cams off never pulled the valve shims i have a compression tester with a screw in for the spark plugs and probes. my brother moved it while i was out and now its all fucked up ughhhhhhh. the only t mark is in the word "hit" and it is tdc

Forget that mark you're looking at. Turn the crank 180 degrees & the TDC marks should be there.

Hiya all I'm reading the following info from the FZ manual so bear with me if it's a bit technical, I'm just trying to help out. To start with you need to align the crank ''T'' mark with the stationary pointer, at this point number 1 piston is at TDC on compression stroke (according to manual). There is a dot on the exhaust camshaft that should align with the mark on the number three cylinder camshaft cap (at this point the manual advises not to turn the camshaft over half a turn as piston and valve damage can occur, I therefore take it that if you need to turn the camshaft too much then you need to remove the camshaft covers first). With the crankshaft and exhaust camshaft aligned the exhaust sprocket can be aligned with the camshaft (It'll only fit one way round if I remember rightly) and lightly fit the exhaust sprocket bolt. Next you will need to align the intake camshaft so that the timing mark is aligned with cylinder number 3 camshaft cap mark. Yet again the manual advises not to turn the camshaft over half a turn without removing the camshaft caps first. Then fit the camshaft sprocket, as with the exhaust sprocket I believe it fits one way round. Once you've aligned the timing you can fit the camchain tensioner, the tensioner body bolts are tightened to 10Nm and the tensioner end bolt to 20Nm, camshaft sprocket bolts are to 24 Nm and camshaft cap bolts are 10 Nm. Hopefully your pistons and valves haven't been damaged by rotating the camshafts too much during previous assembly. Hope this helps

That's rough mate. I bought a 2nd hand engine & robbed complete head from it. Cams not supposed to be swapped unless cam bed & caps are used from the same engine they were fitted to originally. Lapping valves is very tempting but will fuck with your clearances/shims.
