What's the difference between these two chains? The 532 is stock on the '87 FZR1000 while the FZ is a 530. I've learned the last two digits designate the width of the rollers in 1/8th inch increments but this applies to 520, 525, 530 ect. in increments of five. So would 532 designate a width increment of a 1/16th or less? I'm trying to figure out if its ok to use the 47t rr sprocket from the 1000 with the 16t front sprocket from the FZ. Anyone know the skinny on this? Thanks...

When I used the fzr rear wheel I did actually use standard amount of teeth for the gearing as a 160/60 18 has a smaller circumference than a 130/80 18 so fractionally lowering the gearing giving you slightly less top end speed but more drive(acceleration). When I then moved onto the 17" rear wheel using a 160/60 I used 1 tooth more on the front whcih gave nearly the same gearing again. I have now moved on again with a 1000 motor which using 750 gearing is very tall ( massive top speed), I have geared down (4 teeth more on the rear) & it`s still over geared but I will get there in the end. Hope this helps. Go for the 530 conversion, just as strong, easier to get hold of & usually cheaper.
