My insurance for the FZ750 is due end of mth , so called a few highend brokers who spend far to much on advertising how good they are at saving you money, lololol
anyway ive had a few quotes ranging from £232 to £188 fully comp, after answering one insurance companies questions such as, how much did i pay for it ? told to mind his own lol,who am i insured with now and how much have they quoted ? told him to mind his own again, other brokers i spoke to pretty much the same, so i've got after market exhaust, is it a sport or perfomance version ? why the fuck does that matter it's a modified bike doh!! got a solo seat , then i said im fitting alternative forks and wheels later this year, well sir we can quote for the bike as it is today but as for these modifictions later you'd have to talk to the insurance company at the time, to see if thy would cover it, well id like an answer now please, sorry you'd have to wait and see, well they might not cover it then, o fuck so here i am rambling on about insurance companies who seem to just want your hard earned £ cash,
So can any of you guys perhaps enlighten not only myself but everyone with a modified bike as to their helpfull insurance company who know what im seeking, a friendly motorcycling broker / company specialising with modified bikes and maybe resonably priced,
one last thing, the guys having their tresured rebuilt street fighter/ road legal dragster/ road racing copies etc etc are modded to the dogs bollocks who insures them?
( have you noticed they all seem to be around the £300 mark to start with, who says their not ganging up on the motorist, now i dont mind the cost if i get good service, But if i require to retain the bike, "if right off" ,£££££££ EXTRAS, pillion cover £££ EXTRA mind you ive only got a solo seat lol, does this sound a little like the power companies mmmm ) conmsortiums ? thanks,
Welsh Banjo

I looked at putting my recently built FZ/FZR/R6/R1 hybrid on the road for testing purposes earlier this year and there was only one broker who would touch it. Premium was about £250 TPF&T and that covered virtually any mod short of fitting a nitrous kit. My VFR commuter bike only costs me £140 fully comp so I told them to poke it.

thanks Horse, yes it's a stitch up most of the time, i built a custon car years ago, ford classic went to town on it, adrian flux had no problem with cover, changed about every thing v8 engine, body work, suspension, axal etc etc, yet as of this week a high street broker part of the adrain flux group would'nt take it on , it's not as if im trying to scam anyone, just want it insured, only mods are what lots have done on here to, ie exup wheels, exup forks, exhaust, ducati seat,oh well back to trawling the ads, thanks for all reply,s

I added the FZ to an existing policy I've got for my Fazer. Carole Nash, listed most mod's in a vague kind of way. Less than £130.00 for both bikes tp.f & t. It's all bull shit if you ask me. Money for nothing. Just keep it as cheap as possible.

Hi Graham, Carol Nash was the first compamy i asked for a quote, yes as you say vague, very vague, in as much as they would insure me for the exhaust and solo seat, they said it would be upto the insurance company if they would/would'nt ins the wheels, forks, i asked them if they would confirm this prior to me taking the policy, nope, i would have to ask the company myself when i was due to fit the wheels etc, so they want my cash/bonus, with no certanty later, i could end up with no insurance,
Bewise, asked for quote, nice girl put me through to agent and instantly hung up,called back, told nice girl what had happened, she said she would put me through again, i told her not to bother and i hung up,obviously they dont need my money,
back to the drawing board
