I have a spare 1000cc motor that needs the exhaust studs replacing.
As I have the head of it I thought I'd give it a wee skim to up the compression.
Not sure on how much to take off it, was thinking about 0.007"' has anyone got any info' on how far is just enough,
Cheers

i would be extremely careful about doing this. The knock on effect can cause problems , but your looking at 7thou , personally i would want to remove 1mm to make any real effect and i believe its an intereference engine so urm.... maybe just put better fuel in . Sorry not much help. You can calculate the difference using simple maths . on the old brit bikes you had massive potential but these days volumetic efficiency is awesome. good luck
