I had a quick search but apols if this ghas been coverd a zillions times before..
What wheels, if any, are straight swaps for th 2MG 18" and 16" ? In keeping with todays throw away society it seems cheaper to get new-er ones with decent paint than refurb the existing rat-look ones that currently adorn my bike. I don't really want to swap the entire front end unless I have to. All advice and suggestions appreciated..
Cheers
J

J don't get rid of the original rims, store them because in 3 years time your bike becomes classic and in years to come the bike probably will be worth more if you still have all the original bits, on it or not. From what I can gather fzr1000 rear and front ends go in well but there are heaps of clever guys putting other stuff in their fz's like R1 running gear etc. The 16 inch front wheel can talk slap under hard acceleration especially if the front tire is wearing down. 17 with a steering damper can help prevent this. I had two nasty experiences on my FZ back in the late 80 's. Something to keep in mind. Your choice tyres for the 16 inch front wheel is limited also.

front 2mg 17" 3 spokes fit, you'll also need the speedo gear box, going from 16" to 17",also dont for get the tyre size and profile change, 18" rear 3 spokes, that's std on 87 onwards fz's, check out the models 87 owards where 17" 3 spoke, 289mm solid disc's 4 pot calipers, rears where 18" 3 spoke, solid disc's, you can find wheels etc on fleabay at very resonable prices
