Haven't done this before and am wondering if both pistons are removable. I blew one side out with air, does the other side also come out also??

You could have done with forcing them both out at the same time. Now your air is escaping from the hole where the piston used to be & not pushing the other one out. Do not use any kind of grips/pliars etc to pull it out or the chrome will be damaged then it's scrap. See if you can plug the hole with the piston that is out & keep blowing! lol

There is a tool that goes inside the hollow of the piston & expands to grip it allowing you to pull the whole thing out. No idea what it's called exactly but wouldn't mind betting a google search for caliper piston removal tool would show it.

If this is stll a issue just do them half at a time ie: with the side the piston is out, clean it up replace the seals reinsert the pistion and bolt the 2 half back together the use 2 small G clamps and hold the good pistion (clamp on the pistons edges) then use the air and blow out the other one and then clean that one..
I just used this method on mine worked a treat.. good luck..

has anyone ever split the front calipers for an 87 (2MG) FZ? (the ones with a single, ludicrously large piston on each side of the caliper). If so, do you recall if there are any seals for the caliber body itself (i.e. not the piston dust/oil seal, but anything else), and what the part numbers were/where you got replacements from?
