Hello Ken welcome to the forum. There are at least 2 other FZ forums I would advise you to join, fz750.com & fz750.net both of which have been going for considerably longer than this one. I'm assuming you have previous racing experience? My advice would be to upgrade your FZ's brakes, suspension, wheels & tyres, probably in that order! ;D Hope you can post pictures of your project in the "restorations & rebuilds" section.

Hi Graham, Yes raced a bit...three club championships this year and three last year...was lying third (just) in this years Classic Senior MGP before falling at Guthries due to machine problems....got a fair few reps and finishers medals...
Re upgrades have been told FZR1000 87 front end complete and swingarm are the way to go so far.....but will need to offload a few parts first...once started will put on the projects forum

I can confirm that FZR1000 (pre exup) front & rear ends are a bolt on upgrade. I have used FZR yokes which allow the use of what ever 41mm forks you can get so thunderace/cat, FZR600, TRX850 etc. This means a wider choice of brakes & more importantly, a 17" wheel/tyre. ;D Rear arm is a straight swap allowing for wider FZR1000 wheel. Think I paid £20 for yokes, £30 for arm & £50 for wheel with disc, tyre & sprocket carrier.

Any advice or help or parts welcome Ken Hi Ken, are you planning on tuning the FZ? Will it be in the MGP Post Classic senior? Olie Linsdell was doing very well untill he had a spill this year. One thing that Steve Linsdell did was to brace the frame as apparantly at high speeds it flexes a good bit. If you look at the bike here www.olielinsdellracing.com/news.html you can see how Steve has also put a fresh air intake at the front of the fairing Talk to you soon, John

I don't know what class regs will allow but there are photos of a lot of the mods I did for Bemsee Thunderbikes here; picasaweb.google.com/FZ750Horse/BuildingTheBeast#The bike was briefly bang on class regs at 100bhp/180Kg (with 2 litres of fuel) before an unfortunate series of events sent it all tits up ;D - the bike was better than me anyway... I was also going to increase the offset 5mm but I suspect that would make it a bit flighty for real roads.
