Having starting issues with my 2mg 750 ,bought it as a project and now runs but wont start of the button when I press the start button the oil light comes on and nothing ,I have to short out the starter solenoid to fire it up .I have bypassed the stand and clutch switch but cant get to the bottom of it ,any ideas

Check the start button and the connectors for corrosion. Try to start by connecting the right pins in the plug for the switch. Con

Starter solenoid? Loose connection to it or battery or starter motor.

Think its the starter solenoid so ordered a new one

I just noticed a strange issue with mine. Normally the bike starts reliably every time. However if I'm sitting at a stop light and kill the engine with the kill switch, sometimes the bike will refuse to start. Or more correctly, pushing the starter button will have no effect. I suspect the issue is inside the kill switch. For now I'm just not gonna use the kill switch to shut off the bike.
