Sorry I'm no engine builder (only once - a 1776 VW aircooled) I'm wondereing how you get to 911. from my calcs a YZF 750 top end (72mm bo) on a Std FZ crank (51.6 mm stroke) gives 840-ish so I guess I'm missing something..
The avatar editor won't make me look nearly 50.. Bugger, now I am 50. Drat now 52, F*ck 53 already.
Fz Jamie I think he must be using fzr1000 pistons and Barrels which takes the fz750 engine out to about 911 but in this case he's usingi a yzf 750 head and cams I didn't know u could use the yzf750 head either but had heard u can use there cam with mod in the fz750 head Iv got 4 fz750 heads so will b using the best one from what I've heard his power increase is about right for a fz 750 head and cam with the 911 kit
Cool sounds like u got a good result that's a huge power increase have u seen what Paul Davies has put together with his fz 961 he's on fz 750 U.K. or 911 builders group he put together a build DOC on the 961 engine he used 77 mm r one pistons and early r one rods not sure bout the cams I'll b interested to here how your next build goes how much do u want for the fzr1000 Barrels and pistons is u r selling them best of luck Karl
Maybe he's left the country although in this day and age that shouldn't matter I asked him if he wanted to sell the 911 pistons and Barrels but surely that wouldn't have pissed him off anyway where ever you've got to Leino all the best 😎
vtr: Hi from cape town; new at forum's not at bike building; the insanity is contagious. Recently acquired a "1FU" FZ750 with dropped valves and decided cool to rebuild as a 911conversion sleeper, what we do to ourselves...

grahamfirestorm: Can anyone tell me why my bike doesn't seem to light up after 7000rpm like all the research I did before buying it.She has the standard 4 into 1 exhaust, carbs rebuilt with new jets,seals,floats,2 new diaphragms, all valve clearances checked and adjusted?

grahamfirestorm: She revs round to 10000rpm ok,but there is no urgency with it,my 1987 Kawasaki gpx750 was a lot quicker, and that was supposed to be 10-15 bhp down, ive been told the standard silencer and air filter are to blame but I don't believe that.

Graham : grahamfirestorm. Do you have standard size main jets fitted to your carbs? I would be tempted to go up a size or even two to see if it helps the bike pull stronger at high revs.
