Anyone got any tips?
Having put off a plug swap for a number of years I got together the required socket, short extension and stubby knuckle jointed ratchet .. #4 came out clan enough but #3 came out covered in nasty oily crud.. I hastily inserted the new plug and hoped not much crud fell into the cylinder.. So now I want to clean #1 and #2 to prevent further dismay. Any tips? I assume there is some drain channel done there somewhere!

Hi Jamie yes they're is a drainage channel ( hole ) at the bottom of the sparkplug s where they seat on the cylinder head they go out the outer two cylinders I believe so if u have access to compressed air blow this thru from the out side cylinders to clear rubbish also before taking plugs out spray plenty of dewatering fluid or solvent down around the plug and get right down the plug hole ( I use an extension on my air gun and blow it all out and then the drainage hole also do it a few times u don't want shit down the plug hole I think more modern designs have better sealing around the plug so don't suffer this prob u rally need a source of compressed air also undo each plug a bit and repeat the above procedure because u can loosen shit when u loosen the plug all the best hope u haven't got shit in that plug hole

Thanks Karl - that's useful. I'm kicking myself at teh rash stupidity. I think I was still thrilled I could even get a socket on them! Yes I can get some compressed air on the remaining.
