Hello all, just joined. I thought this would be usefull, I'm in the process of restoring a 1987 2LM 750 Genesis (Jap import) Just worked my way through lapping the valves in and re shimming, wheels and bearings, calipers and lines.

Hi, thanks for joining. I have a soft spot for the FZR750 & 1000 having owned a 1000 4 years ago. I believe the 750 import has a better spec than the 1000 with more adjustment of the front forks but don't quote me on that. I had a Japanese spec RZ250RR many years ago which was basically a sleeved down RD350 YPVS F1 but it was slightly quicker than my mate's 350 which didn't go down too well with him. Having rebuilt the cylinder head on my first FZ750 about 15 years ago I think you deserve a medal for lapping and shimming yours. Unfortunately the Facebook group seems to have stolen most of the traffic from this forum but don't dismiss it totally. There is a wealth of information within these pages if you can be bothered to trawl through it all. Be nice to see pics of your project if you can work out how to post them on here.
